Who We Are

Our Mission

Is to continually innovate for environmental, social, economic and spiritual wellbeing of our animals, our farm, and our community.

Crest Point Farms believes in farming like animal health and well being matters. Farming in a way that soil and pasture regeneration is achieved using the animals as essential tools to cultivate, fertilize and water the ground. Plants and grasses are stimulated to produce far beyond what was before possible, sequestering carbon into the ground. Farming this way cleans the air we breathe, purifies the water we drink, and enriches the food we eat.

Extraordinary Animals

Irish Dexter cattle originated in Ireland as a dual family cow providing meat and milk. They made their way to England, and then to the US in the early 1900’s as a rare breed. In England, old herd registration books show that Dexters were typically registered to castles and estates. In recent years, Dexters have enjoyed a resurgence in numbers and popularity due to their suitability of small acreage, adaptability to a wide variety of environments, their natural hardiness, ease of calving and a renewed interest in a natural, healthy, home grown food source. Grass-finished Dexter beef is renowned for its extraordinary flavor, marbling, and tenderness.

We found New Zealand Kunekune pigs to be the only breed that compliments a grass-fed operation, allowing us to graze them on pasture right along with our Irish Dexters. They don’t root up the grass and they can be sustained solely on grass, acorns, veggies, and fruit.  The pork is truly amazing.

Our Core Values

We farm by recognizing the abundant organic biodiversity below ground. The below ground herd, just as important as the above ground herd, is nurtured and multiplied.  This is our foundation. So, we farm with compost, compost teas, worm teas, and other specialized nutrients. We farm to establish deep rooted perennial grasses and trees. This kind of farming is called regenerative organic agriculture.
